“West Coast is the Best Coast” Summer Blog with DJ Lisa

This past weekend I was lucky to have the opportunity to attend “Viva Pomona” a two day bilingual music festival in Pomona California. It was quite the line up including acts as, Thee Oh Sees,  Chk Chk Chk !!!, Crystal Antlers, The Lovely Bad Things, and even bands from outside the US like Porter from Mexico, and Argentina’s rock star’s El Mato a un Policia Motorizado. However, there was several local So Cal acts too, like Girlpool, The Garden, So Many Wizards, Chicano Batman among many others. Which brings me to the band I happen to interview at this very special music festival, the band Santoros. I would have to say that Santoros have been on my radar for a couple of years now originally played on my old specialty show, “Spanglish Mixtape”. Since then I have been following the band and going to all the LA shows I could hit up. So, getting an interview with these guys is something that had been a long time coming. Santoros are a band who grew quick popularity in the LA music scene within the span of just one year. I feel comfortable saying that they are probably the hardest working band on the current indie scene. Averaging at least one show a week in the Southern California area, as well as Northern California. I have been quite a fan of this band for a while and I was incredibly grateful that they were nice enough to give me the opportunity to interview 4 out 7 of the band’s members. With that, it is my great pleasure to share with you my long anticipated interview with Santoros. Enjoy!!

**The other members that create Santoros are Diego Prieto- Keyboards, Adolfo Canales- Lead Guitar, and Marco Rocha- Drums. (So sorry I missed you guys, though I hope I can get another chance. Mucho Amor!)
