So like every music snob/dork I belong to this “mix tape club.” We haven’t made one in awhile, but this time we had essentially a pick your own theme. I picked Winter, because I’ve been wanting to make this type of mix for awhile.
I’m kind of weird and have certain albums that I put away during Spring and Summer, only to have them glorify my eardrums in the Winter. But they’re also some of my favorite albums or songs of all time. And since Winter is my favorite season, I kind of spoil myself with musical goodness.
So after a few days of picking and choosing and sequencing and cutting, I finally finished my mix called, What Winter Sounds Like To Me. I really picked the songs that best fit the feeling of Winter; whether they be sounds of Winter, warmth and love, or just simply reminiscent of something in my life that happened during the Winter, and my brain cannot escape those thoughts when listening to that particular song.
To me, Winter is the season of love. It’s also the prime season for relaxing and going on long drives. It’s the time when I’m not worried about working, or doing school work, or being forced to be around people I can’t stand. It’s my time of year to just relax, do things at my own pace, and let all my emoness out. Which explains all the slower songs. But I definitely had to give up a few tracks to get them onto an audio CD..
