Hello record lovers! Once again I thank you for tuning in to this past week’s House Of Wax episode. The Spring quarter at SCAD is drawing to a close which means House of Wax will soon be off the air for the summer break. Meaning you’ve only got two more shows to catch before the schedule on SCAD Atlanta Radio switches around. As mentioned last Thursday, I’ll be hosting a special covers episode for this week’s show. The theme is “Contemporary Covers” where 50s and 60s artists cover the songs of other 50s and 60s artists. For example, Wilson Pickett’s cover of The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” or The Who covering Martha & The Vandellas “(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave”. We’ll see what songs were big enough to influence artists of the same period and motivate them enough to give the tune their own treatment. Should be interesting so I hope you can catch it this Thursday from 2-4 p.m. Now as for the summer’s show… well, I haven’t quite made up my mind about that yet. I’m tempted to return to the album rock decade for a second edition of Stuck In The 70s, but I also know that I’ll want to try something new for myself.
