Hello record lovers! In case you missed it this week, we had a special episode of House Of Wax. No vinyl this time but a whole lot of interesting cover songs. The theme of the covers was 60s artists covering popular 60s songs. While searching for songs to play it became apparent that the majority of these covers came from rock bands doing their take on popular R&B songs and vice versa. Covers are always a hard trick to pull off. You’re copying someone else’s work but making sure to put on a fresh intention, otherwise the cover comes across too gimmicky. Otis Redding’s cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” is a pretty good example of cover song gone right. Hope you enjoyed what you heard. Here’s the playlist if you missed it:
