Hello record lovers and welcome back to the House of Wax on SCAD Atlanta Radio! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been able to do a live show with vinyl so I’m very happy to be back in the SCAD Atlanta Radio studio. To be honest, I kind of retreated from this era of music during the period we were away. I felt that if I couldn’t share it with others I couldn’t really enjoy it myself. On occasion I’d come back to it, just long enough to pick up a few 45s for future shows. During a recent trip to Seattle, WA I was able to browse at least one of the several record stores in the city. As luck would have it, this store had an excellent collection of old 7″ singles for sale; the majority of which were original labels and in pretty well kept condition . So kudos to Georgetown Records.
I’m looking forward to playing some new songs for everyone but it looks like you’ve only got one week left to enjoy them! As usual, I’ll be switching gears from House of Wax once the quarter ends. Last year I debuted a show called “Son Of House Of Wax” which focused on the heavier and more psychedelic influenced sounds of the 1960s and which I later went on to host during the Winter Quarter.
