This week marked the triumverant return of the MD Show, meaning a perhaps non-existant word meant to mean the third mixed with triumphant. We had music, we had talk, we had more music and more talk and tried to give away tickets. All in all, it was a triumvermant show. Here’s the our favorite music from last week:

Apply – Glasser

T – Glasser

Revival – Deer Hunter

Helicopter – Deer Hunter

Fools – Two Fingers

Woebegon (Flying Lotus’ Like Woe Mix) – The Long Lost

Keep Shining – Shad

Yaa I Get It – Shad

Tiny Heist – Sky Larkin

Tiny Heist – Sky Larkin

Shade By Shade – Sky Larkin

And, as the title of this post suggests, this week’s theme was light and dark. There were more songs regarding light, but that doesn’t mean the song where the video featured Courtney Cox dancing with Bruce Springsteen awkwardly that has been credited as the inspiration for the Carleton didn’t sneak its way into the show. That was phrased weirdly; here’s what we played:

Light Up The Night – The Brothers Johnson

Light My Fire – Al Green

In The Misty Moonlight – Dean Martin

You Are A Light – Pavement

Dancing in the Dark – Bruce Springsteen

The Well and the Lighthouse – Arcade Fire

Light the Fires – Dropsonic

The Twilight Showdown – Starlight Mints

Moonlight Miles – The Rolling Stones

The Wizard Turns On… The Giant Silver Flashlight and Puts on His Werewolf Moccasins – Flaming Lips

Lights On – Secret Machines

All Day Daylight – Morning Benders

Limelight – Rush

Guiding Light – Television

Night Flight – Led Zeppelin

Strange Lights – Deerhunter

The Big Light – Elvis Costello

Whistling in the Dark – They Might Be Giants

Lights and Music – Cut Copy

Dark Horse – George Harrison

Little Miss Queen of Darkness – The Kinks

I Saw The Light – Spoon

Starlight – Index

Flash Light – Parliament

Thanks for listening and reading and such. Our next show will be about ladies, meaning songs about particular women in various ways will be played. Tune in if you’re confused, or if you aren’t confused tune in as well.
