It’s Sunday evening over the last weekend of Winter Quarter, time for last minute heroics on all levels from all people.  I’m writing this post as a break from a long Sunday of grading art projects.  Three classes down, one more to go, at least for tonight.

What’s going on in the world today?  There are plenty of reasons to be outraged these days.  Where is the Clash or Rage Against the Machine when you need them?  More politically outspoken rock and roll, like the Clash, is what the world needs now. Therefore this week, I decided to make the special feature* The Clash, one of the most important bands in the history of rock and roll. The Clash were part of the original wave of British punk that came around in the mid-70’s.  However, the Clash were far more than a punk rock band. Their music incorporated elements of reggae, ska, dub, funk, rap, dance and rockabilly.  The Clash started out as an opening act for the Sex Pistols, but they were a hundred times better.  Soon they became “the only band that matters.”

Don’t forget, next week will be the latest installment of the Fuzz Factory Cover Song Spectacular.  Listen Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST).  I realize it’s St. Patrick’s Day, so listen drunk if you must.

I started this weeks show with Inside Job, in honor of the movie that just won the Oscar for Best Documentary (I know what I’ll be renting over break).  I also played some Clutch and the White Stripes by request from a local listener in Atlanta.

Here’s your Fuzz Factory playlist.  Don’t forget to think for yourself and get outraged once in a while.  It does a mind good.  Now please, continue your work and continue to rock on.
