Last week on the Fuzz Factory, my Compare/Contrast Special Feature was AC/DC and Kiss. Why? Well, they’re both two bands from my earliest record buying days – I bought vinyl by both bands as a kid. I listened to their albums after Cub Scout meetings. They grabbed my young ears with their riffs. Especially AC/DC, who are the superior musicians by far. In fact, the line “Gene Simmons couldn’t play that bass line,” is repeatedly said by my friends and I when we listen to inventive, well played music.
Beyond that, both bands are masters of the obvious sexual innuendo . Neither are known for their sophisticated lyrical content. In fact, I learned more about sex from AC/DC and Kiss than I did from my parents.
Tune in THURSDAY nights from 8-11 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org). for the Fuzz Factory with Brett Callero.
