Hello Lovely Listeners,

Whoa! Long time no hear, right? Sorry about the expansive absence. With finals, Spring Break and more, I had a hard time finding time to bake. Okay, not really, I bake all the time. Don’t worry, we will be back in regular rotation from now on! We have a whole lot planned this quarter. I don’t to give too much away but you might expect the following from our show in the next few weeks: Restaurant reviews, savory baked goods, newsletters, promos and more!

Let’s get to the point, right? You all aren’t here to read about future plans, you all are here for the ROTW! I know you are itching to find out what it is that we cooked up here at the Baker’s Block!
In honor of Easter we decided to go with the ever-so appropriate Carrot cake! Everyone loves and good Carrot Cake, am I right, or am I right?

Carrot Cake

We had great success with this cake. Using our friend Mikes Magic Bullet we were able to shred the carrots with ease! Overall this was an incredibly easy cake to make (and eat). We were so hoppy (Get it? No?) to give this recipe a shot. And we were more than satisfied with the results, but was Mike hopping for joy?

Five Mikes

Whoa. Five. Whole. Mikes. That hasn’t happened since the Red Velvet! Admittedly though, we were not surprised! This cake was perfection. From the tip top of the icing to the moist, carroty, cake bottom! He had no complaints. The only thing he said was “This is the best Carrot cake i’ve ever had!” We concur mike, we concur!

What will next week bring? Cake? Cookies? Cupcakes? Pastries? Or something from the other (savory) side? You will have to wait around to find out!
