And that’s all, friends! With this final summer episode, Straight Thru The Night has come to an end. The truth is that now that DJ Travers and Matt are out there in the real world, they can’t promise they’ll be back next year for another run. Of course, we’ve enjoyed every minute of the program and we certainly appreciate all you listeners checking us out week after week. It’s been great having the show to look forward to these past few summers. Perhaps there are other ways the show will live on then – a blog, a podcast, a playlist post every now and then. We shall see. The FB page is still up and running and any news of a format change or even a possible reunion show will be posted there so be sure to follow us in the meantime: http://www.facebook.com/straightthruthenight.

This episode we talked mostly about the show’s end which naturally led us to a discussion on how it started. We talked about the bands we liked that made the show what it is (our “staples”), and cool new bands we discovered along the way, our favorite of which has to be Vampire Step-Dad (look for him playing at the Echosynthetic Fest on Nov. 11 in East Atlanta)! We had our last “Retch-Ro Cinema” segment where we discussed the lost cinematic treasure The Miami Connection. The consensus was that you should probably just buy this movie. It’s that so-bad-it’s-good. Before our “true blue” 80s set, we said our final goodbyes and our expressed our enduring gratitude for our listeners and for SCAD Atlanta Radio for giving us a home. We were happy that people are still willing to take a risk by listening to non-commercial free format radio while at the same time, humoring two grown men who liked to talk an awful lot about 80s cartoons and toys.

We sincerely hope that we here at Straight Thru The Night have fulfilled all of your synthesizer fantasies and your CASIO dreams!
