AC/DC performs its first show with lead singer Bon Scott. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks join Fleetwood Mac. Cher divorces Sonny Bono and the Captain marries Tennille. ABBA wins the Eurovision contest with their song “Waterloo”. Van Halen and The Ramones play their first concerts, the latter making their CBGB debut later in 1974.
