This week was a shorter show that consisted of two specialized hours; We had an hour of funk and an hour of shoegaze because those are two of Dylan and my favorite genres. I chose the funk which happened as follows:

My Thang -James Brown

Hair – Graham Central Station

I Got A Thing, You Got A Thing, Everybody’s Got a Thing – Funkadelic

Ice Cold Daydream – Shuggie Otis

Cardova – The Meters

Running – Baby Huey

Brothers on the Slide – Cymande

The Bohannon Walk – Bohannon

Jungle Boogie – Kool & The Gang

September – Earth, Wind and Fire

Love City – Sly & The Family Stone

I Wish – Stevie Wonder

The Rubberband Man – The Spinners

Good Lovin’ Brings an Encore – Edwin Birdsong

Dylan chose the shoegaze, which happened as such:

Swim – Ambuland LTD

Air Tight Angels – Airiel

Dream About Me – The Depreciation Guild

Delaware – Drop Nineteens

Blowin’ Cool – Swervedriver

Un-Deux – Serena Maneesh

Baby Maker – Pale Saints

San Cristobal de las Casas – The Swirlies

Blown A Wish – My Bloody Valentine

Starlust – Lush

Souvlaki Space Station – Slowdive

Face to Face On High Places – School of Seven Bells

Next week’s show is somewhat Groundhog Day themed. It’s a covers show that includes the original and cover, so it’s like reliving the same 3 minutes again, but slightly different. Like Bill Murray in that one movie.

Oh, and here’s a live performance of “The Rubberband Man” by the Spinners.

Thanks for listening/reading,

MD

  1. Funk and Shoegaze. Very interesting and equally as good. Wish I was able to listen. I’ll try next time.
